Kew Gardens Meet - 12th September
Posted: 14 Sep 2015
Saturday 12th September saw a group of us meet at Kew Gardens for our annual get together. This year we thought an autumn slot rather than our traditional May one would enable us to see some different plants at their best.
It was great to see old friends again and put names to faces with Eddie and his wife and Peter, who had travelled over from The Netherlands.
We were lucky with the weather, early morning rain gave way to a nice and pretty sunny day. This gave us chance to get a pretty long walk around the glasshouses and number of the outdoor areas. Of course all the time we had the chance to talk plants whilst enjoying the plants that Kew had on display.
We didn't get chance to meet David Cook this year or any of the Kew guys, but the Temperate House is now encased in hoarding and scaffolding so with luck its restoration is well underway!
Most people rounded off the day with a plant swap and visit to the Palm Centre to stock up on new plants having been inspired by the tour of Kew.
Always a nice day, I greatly enjoyed it and now we need to set a date for next year!
